All-Star cheerleading is an “Elite” Cheerleading program designed for young athletes to perform and compete at a competitive level.  It is also designed to teach discipline, team work, dedication, commitment and good sportsmanship.

 

WHAT DO THE WEEKLY PRACTICES CONSIST OF.

Weekly practices for the team members are EXTREMELY important. Each practice focuses on tumbling, stunting, dancing, and pulling together performance and competition routines. The squad DOES NOT benefit to its full potential unless all squad members are in attendance. Regular attendance is expected from all team members. If your child wants to participate in any other outside activities you need to make sure that it does not conflict with the cheerleading schedule or calendar for that month. They will not be excused from outside activities for cheerleading.

Starting September 1, 2009 there will be an absence policy. All cheerleaders are allowed one absence. Exceptions are: funeral, wedding, school activity for grade, etc. If students are ill they are expected to come and watch class so they do not fall behind. If a student has more than one absence they will be spaced out of a competition.

Tuition is $75.00 Hot Tamales /$135.00 Dare Devils & Heat Wave/$150.00 She Devils. If you would like to take an extra tumbling class it will only be an additional $10.00.

 

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO BE ON TIME.

Being on time shows respect for your coaches, and team-mates.  All-Star cheerleading teaches young athletes that being on time is part of being responsible.  Being on time is crucial to our program and is expected from all team members (which is basically the responsibility of the PARENTS).  All team members should always plan on being at least 5-10 minutes early to every practice, performance, and competition.

 

WHAT IS CHEERLEADING CAMP.

Cheer Camp will be held at Elite Academy. Camp is designed to help all cheerleaders progress in their jumps, stunting, & tumbling skills. We will also be focusing a good portion of the time on their competition routine and also be working on TEAM BUILDING, which is the most important!!. This is an important part of our year and a great way to get it started. All squad members will be supervised at all times by Elite Academy cheerleading coaches. Cheer camp will be held on

HW-June 29-July 1

DD-July 8-July 10

SD-June 23-25

Camp is: $65.00 for Hot Tamales / $135.00 for Heat Wave, Dare Devils, & She Devils-Lunch is provided for HW, DD, SD

**Camp deposit of $65.00 is due 6/1/09, and balance of $70.00 for HW, DD, & SD due 7/1/09

 

WHAT IS PERFORMANCE ATTIRE

All team members are required to purchase performance attire. This attire is used throughout the summer for performances, and appearances until the squad has received their uniforms. Performance attire consists of 1 shirt and 1 pair of shorts.


The total cost is $20.00

**Total payment of $20.00 is due April 21/22, 2009

 

HOW MUCH ARE CHEERLEADING UNIFORMS.

The uniform consists of skirt, top, trunks, and shoes. The approximate cost for the uniform is $250.00-$300.00 paid to VARSITY by CREDIT CARD or MONEY ORDER ONLY!!!!! The girls will be measured on Mon. July 20th and will need to pay for their uniform in full by Wed. July 29th . The team will also need to purchase cheer warm-ups, and a Duffle Bag. The total for this will be: Warm-ups $100.00, Duffle Bag $35.00

WHEN AND WHERE DO WE COMPETE.

The cheerleading squad will compete @ approx. 7 competitions throughout the year.

The All-Star cheerleading squad is also asked to perform numerous times throughout the year at local high schools, and special events throughout the state. Competition fees for all 6 competitions is Approx. $200.00 (I am waiting for prices for some competitions)

**$100.00 (approx) 2nd payment for competition fees due 10/1/08

Cheer competitions will be as follows:

2 in Dec.

2 in Jan.

2 in Feb.

 

HOW MUCH WILL NATIONALS COMPETITION COST.

All team members can either fly or drive to Nationals which ever you prefer.

HOWEVER, WE WILL BE PRACTICING THE THURSDAY BEFORE NATIONALS COMPETITION. ALL MEMBERS NEED TO BE IN ATTENDANCE AT THIS PRACTICE. No exceptions. Failure to attend this practice could result in being spaced out!!

The competition is held on a weekend 1-2 days. All team members are required to stay at the same hotel. The room will be approximately $100.00-$125.00 per night. All team members are required to pay a $40.00 coaches fee (or one per family).

WHAT IS FUNDRAISING

 

Fundraising is designed to help ALL team members raise money to help with all cheerleading expenses. FUNDRAISING in the past has been a BIG success for the girls who have really tried and participated. Fundraisers are available to help all the girls raise money for cheerleading expenses. The following dates are the car washes & Garage sales that we have planned for the summer. Please sign up if you are interested in participating.

WILL MY CHILD HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE IN THE ALL-STAR CHEERLEADING PROGRAM???

The coaches will do everything they can to give your child an experience they won’t forget. Please keep in mind that with all of the practicing and time commitment, the coaches need the HELP of the parents to keep a positive attitude when your child may get burned out or may not want to come to practice. Being a part of this program is a big COMMITMENT and we ask that if your child makes the commitment to be an All-Star cheerleader you help them keep the yearly commitment. It is a very rewarding experience and we are so excited that you will be a part of our program.
